Technical Support Engineer - Information Security (UAE)

Title: Technical Support Engineer

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for IBM Qradar, IBM Guardium, Dell TPAM, Mobileiron, Gemalto, Palo Alto Firewall and other starlink products portfolio as needed and required by management.

Use your technical development skills and variety of resources on a daily basis to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues that are impacting enterprise level systems

Interact professionally and courteously with all customers and peers. Is easily approachable, react calmly under stressful situations; receive constructive criticism well; demonstrate effective listening skills. Maintains confidentiality

Continuously improve knowledge of current and emerging IT Security threats, vulnerabilities, their detection and mitigation.

Document technical information in Knowledge Base and assist others to do the same

Demonstrate initiative to become certified in starlink portfolio of products

Identify defects in the product and enter clear and precise information on how to reproduce them.

Escalate issues to management when needed.

 

Required Skills

BS in Computer Science (or relevant experience) and at least 1 - 3 years of Information Security experience.

CEH, CCNA Preferred

Excellent team player and communicator with good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Good listening skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills specific to software related issues

Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and maintain attention to details

Demonstrate proficiency using hardware, software, and network resources while resolving customer issues

Knowledge/experience with Windows and UNIX including AIX, HP, Linux, Solaris

 

Additional Skills Desired

CCNP, PCNSE

1-2 years of Customer Support experience

Understanding of operating systems (Linux, Microsoft Windows, AIX, etc.) and expert understanding of database administration and security with SQL, Oracle, DB2, and some experience with non-relational databases such as Hadoop and Mongo is also helpful

Familiarity preferred but not essential: Perl, Kerberos, SSL, TCP protocols, SOAP, REST, IIS, Virtualization (VMWare preferred)

Knowledge/ experience in Routing & Switching (OSPF / BGP / VLAN / STP) will be added advantage.

Knowledge/ experience with Security (IPSEC / SSL-VPN / NAT / GRE) desired

Familiarity with IBM Guardium, Mobileiron, Palo Alto, Qradar, Gemalto  or Riverbed will be added advantage
