StarLink's Solutions Fuel Government Cybersecurity Deployments in KSA in 2015

Due to the number of recent cyberattacks in the Kingdom

Thursday, August 13, 2015 – Dubai, UAE - StarLink, the region's trusted security-specialized "True" Value-Added-Distributor (VAD), has witnessed a drastic increase in cyberattacks on Government organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2015.

Like the private sector, Government organizations globally are dependent on creating, collecting and consuming data. Simultaneously cybercriminals, are equally interested in this data, from passwords to financial records and classified files. Also due to the geopolitical landscape in the Middle East region, there has been a drastic increase in zero-day malware targeting critical infrastructure thereby impacting national security, so the need for improved cybersecurity is urgent.

"It is clear that Government organizations in Saudi Arabia now understand the threats they face. Alongside our Channel Partners in KSA, we have been engaged in multiple large Government cybersecurity projects this year, implementing best-of-breed next-generation threat protection solutions that address today's cybersecurity challenges" said Hassan Abdelqader, VP Sales – KSA at StarLink.

Avinash Advani, VP Business Strategy at StarLink added, "If a Government organization does not know where their sensitive data is, whether it is at risk, if it can be protected from next-generation threats, and how to share it securely, then it cannot know if it has the proper security solutions in place. Government organizations must ensure that they have an effective multi-layered defense-in-depth detection and incident response architecture in place to quickly mitigate against advanced persistent threats (APTs) in order to minimize damage, data loss, and impact to reputation."
